TERMS AND CONDITIONS
To ensure your hot air balloon flight is a happy, memorable and safe occasion, the following Terms & Conditions apply.
Hot Air Balloon rides are planned for a duration of approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour in duration. Time in the air for each flight is variable and will be determined by the availability of landing sites and/or meteorological conditions.
Hot Air Balloon flights take place when local weather conditions are suitable. To ensure your safety, we only fly when it is safe to do so.
We will not fly if there is low visibility, if it is windy, or if there is precipitation close to or in the flying area.
We reserve the right to cancel flights at any time up to the moment of launch if, in our judgement, the conditions are not safe for flight.
If your flight is cancelled due to unsuitable weather conditions, we will send you an email with a rescheduling link on our online booking system so you can reschedule your flight for another day that is suitable for you.
The pilot’s decision on the suitability of weather conditions for a flight is final, but rest assured that your flight is well worth waiting for!
Our flying location is located outside the city of Ottawa. To participate in one of our flights, passengers should be able to travel to our launch site on their own. Minor children under the age of 16 years of age have to be accompanied by an adult appointed by the parent(s) or guardian(s). While there is no upper age limit, passengers must be able to stand during the entirety of the flight, and may need to walk a certain distance from the balloon to the chase vehicle, sometimes on uneven ground. The balloon basket does not have a door, and passengers must be mobile enough to climb in and out of the basket. A certain amount of flexibility and upper body strength are desirable. Children must be at least 10 years old and be tall enough to see over the side of the basket. The basket is approximately 1.1m (42” tall). Due to safety and operational requirements we cannot fly passengers who weigh over 250 lbs, pregnant women, individuals who have done a recent scuba dive, and people suffering from chronic pain or have had recent major surgery. If you have a medical condition which could cause discomfort or be aggravated during the flight, or have been advised to restrict your activity because of a medical condition, please do not fly.
In the event that we cancel your booking due to adverse weather conditions; it is the responsibility of the passenger to rebook their flight using the online booking tool’s rescheduling function within 12 months of the purchase date. Flight bookings and vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of issue. Sometimes passengers can be cancelled a few times before being able to fly. If you have tried more than once to reschedule within 12 months of the purchase date, we reserve the right to extend your booking for a further 12 months.
Our bookings are reserved using a pre-paid deposit, or paid in full and are non-refundable. We do understand that sometimes passenger’s situations change and they no longer can or wish to use their balloon ride vouchers. For this reason, the vouchers are transferable. If you wish to transfer your voucher to another party, please ensure their health or ability is not restricted. Simply let us know via email who you want us to transfer the voucher to and we will amend our records.
Once your reservation has been made, we require 72 hour notice for schedule changes.
No refunds under any circumstances.
Late arrivals, no-shows and flights cancelled without 72 hour notice will be considered flown.
